Our family left a war torn country to come to Australia when I was four years old as Vietnamese boat refugees and naturally, we are extremely grateful for our current way of life in Australia; more so now than ever with young children of our own.
I started my professional career as a would be accountant having gained my Bachelor of Finance degree but quickly realized while I liked the commercial side of my job, my real passion was in data and coding. With a succession of very supportive managers, especially within CBA, I steadily made the transition to become a developer, moving from one language/technology to the next. Today, I get paid to do work that I love and passionate about as a business intelligence developer.
In my spare time, I love travelling and being out in the great outdoors with my family. My other hobby is keeping abreast with the latest technologies.
About My Blog
This blog together with my other site started out to satisfy my curiosity on how things work more than anything. Also like many other blogs, it also started off a collection of tips and tutorials that I picked up and wanted to share with friends and colleagues. I still bookmark a lot of these great sites on Facebook for my own benefit and where I think it’s worthy to elaborate or express my views on them, this is what this site is for. Twitter is another place I get my materials from (the industry’s best all seem to like it as I’ve discovered).
My goal for this site is one blog per week but also interesting enough so there’s actually an audience-50 viewers per blog? We’ll see, just having fun (though won’t be much use if no one is reading it 🙂 )
As I just learnt today from a seasoned pro on this, I should probably point out, “the posts (and comments) on this site are my own personal views and do not necessarily reflect the views of any of my employers”.
